Classes for Children and Teens

Age-appropriate classes teach children and teens to call attention to threatening situations, distinguish between safe and unsafe adults, physically and verbally protect themselves, and report potential danger to a safe adult.

Teen classes focus on personal safety, assertiveness in dating relationships, and managing increasing independence. Teens have the opportunity to practice appropriately asserting themselves and asking for what they need in situations where they feel uncomfortable. They also receive training on assessing situations for danger, and learn how to defend themselves physically and verbally if necessary. They have the opportunity to customize a scenario that reflects a source of anxiety in their own life.
